Week 10
40 mile week but my longest run is only 8 miles. I’ll be running all 7 days and my speed will be 2-3 x 1.5 miles at 5k-10k pace.

This month will be my hardest month with two more 20 milers and a half marathon before I get to taper in May.

Odd pain below my left knee. Googled and it sounds like patellar tendinitis. I put kt tape on it this morning and am hoping I caught it early. I’m not even sure what I did yesterday to cause this flare up, relatively easy run and I focused more on arms than legs during my strength work. I’m scheduled to run 8 after work today, it’ll be another last minute call on whether I run or rest.

Got it done. My knee felt better as the day went on, I’ll just ice and keep it taped.

Treadmill runs the next couple of days with snow and WIND! School closed early today and it does not look great for tomorrow either. My knee is much better, a little sore if I push around on it. I plan to combine my speed with an 8 mile run later in the week, so I can be outside.

More treadmill today, school was closed due to the snow and wind.

Two hour late start for the kids today. I hopped on the treadmill before I had to bring them into school at 10:00. With the crazy weather, more time at home and shorter runs I was able to focus more on strength this week.

Eight miles with speed! The weather finally turned around, less wind, lots of sunshine and the feels like temp hit almost 30 while I was running. My goal was to run 3 x 1.5 miles at 5k-10k pace. Close to a 10k pace for all three
I’m looking ahead to a half marathon in two weeks. My goal is to run a comfortable pace for the first 11-12 miles and then pick it up to hit the finish. I would like to be close to my personal course record from last year.
I think I’m going to flip my 3 and 5 mile runs, Saturday/Sunday, so that I can have more time to relax on Sunday. That means I’ll run 42 miles this week and 43 miles next week.
