I drew a line in the sand. I would be running without pain by Monday or hang up my racing shoes for the season. Sunday arrived and I was still having pain while walking, barring a miracle there would be no running come Monday.
After I took the picture of MY LINE in the sand I continued to walk on the beach and noticed several lines. Wait, what? MY LINE wasn’t the end? It was as if God was saying that’s not my line.
My college roommate had sent a text earlier:
Would you be willing
to give yourself
one more week of healing
and then see how you feel?
As the week progressed song after song played on Pandora encouraging me to trust God with the unknown.
I was reminded of the potter and the clay from Jeremiah 18.
Can I not do with you, Joni,
as this potter does?
Like clay in the hand of the potter,
so are you in my hand, Joni.
(adapted from Jeremiah 18:6)
I drew my line in the sand and God drew several. He has me in his hands. I do not know the outcome or his plan. I will trust one day at a time.
