Holy Spirit Boldness

Before cell phones and GSP, I was riding to a Young Life training with another volunteer. Neither of us were familiar with the neighbor but we took our best guess at how to get to the right location. We ended up lost in a not so nice area of St. Paul and the other girl (yes, girl, we were in college) pulled into a gas station to ask for directions. When she walked back to the car she told me we were giving a guy a ride to a homeless shelter.

“WHAT!” We didn't know this guy. He had a huge duffle bag with God only knows what inside. All of the terrible things he could do to us flashed through my mind. I told her to drive away but the guy was already getting into the car so I did the only other thing I could think of. I turned around and asked him, “Do you know Jesus?”

Where did this BOLDNESS come from? It had to be the Holy Spirit. I am an introverted person and slow to let people in, yet I was BOLDLY talking to a strange man about his relationship with Jesus.

2 Timothy 1:7

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

We did safely arrive at the homeless shelter and drop him off, then found our way to the training.

Have you ever experienced Holy Spirit Boldness? This is not a common experience for me but I have found that saying yes to the whispers of God helps me to be ready when the situation arises. Take two minutes to listen to God's whispers and then be on the lookout for an opportunity to use Holy Spirit Boldness today.
