God-Blessed Trip Gratitude

A friend sent me a message the other week asking how God had blessed me that day. I took a moment to respond, and now, as I’m sitting on a plane leaving on a trip, I find myself counting my blessings.

This trip! My sister asked if I wanted to join her on a trip to Arizona to watch her daughter play volleyball. Everything worked out, and here I am, going on a mini-vacation.

When I arrived at the airport, it took me only 10 minutes to get through security. Gotta love small airports!

I didn't select my seat and ended up with a random middle seat. Not my favorite, but who likes the middle seat? Well, the window seat was open, which is my favorite! Now I have the window seat and an open seat next to me.

Then, the lady in the aisle seat asked if I was a runner. Why, yes, I am. She told me I had nice legs.

The trip has just begun, and my blessing list is growing.

My sister picked me up from the airport, brought me water, filled me up with food, and allowed me to stay in her spacious hotel room.

I was able to watch my niece play the sport she loves and excels at!

An open treadmill was available for my run, because 90-plus degrees is too hot for me to run outside.

I had deep conversations with new friends during the time between volleyball games.

Quiet pool time in the morning with 90-plus degrees is perfect!

I spent time with my sister, laughing and remembering our poor choices growing up, even getting a laugh out of my niece for it.

Reginald was an awesome Uber driver.

And I enjoyed coffee at just the right moments, like 5:00 a.m. at the airport.

As I head home, I am exhausted. My alarm did go off at 3:30 this morning, but my gratitude is abundant as I prepare to walk back into my routine life. This trip has been full of God moments, and all I can do is say thank you. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

On my flight home, I was very thankful for Dramamine. If the people seated next to me knew how nauseous I was feeling, they would’ve been thankful for it too. Let’s just say it was a little bumpy.

Finally, when I arrived home, my daughters were excited to see me and had spent the morning cleaning the house. I am also grateful for my husband who held things together at home so I could sneak away for the weekend.

This week, write down the ways God shows His love to you.
