With Thanksgiving this week, I’ve been reflecting on all that has happened over the past year. There’s so much to be grateful for, and I’m amazed at the ways God has taken me on incredible adventures.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His love endures forever.
– 1 Chronicles 16:34
As I reflect on His goodness, here are ten blessings that stand out from this past year:
Getting back into the habit of attending church regularly has been a blessing for our family. It’s helped us grow spiritually and draw closer to God. The highlight? Watching my daughters take the step of faith to be baptized.
In May, I had the honor of being part of my stepson and new daughter-in-law’s wedding. It was certainly a day to remember and be thankful for.
3. Running again and hitting a new half marathon PR.
After battling injuries, I’m so thankful to be back to running. This year, I was able to recover, train, and even achieve a personal best in the half marathon. It’s been another journey of perseverance, and I’m grateful for God's strength that carried me through.
4. Sharing the joy of running with my people.
Running wouldn’t be nearly as fun without some of my favorite people! Grandma’s weekend with family and the Bemidji Half Marathon with friends were highlights of the year that filled my tank with encouragement and joy.
5. Cheering on my nieces at state.
In February, I had the opportunity to watch two of my nieces dance at the state competition. Seeing their hard work and talent was such a proud moment for me. And just last weekend, I was able to cheer on another niece as she competed at state volleyball. It’s been a blessing to celebrate these incredible young women and their accomplishments.
Life at home is busy, and sometimes we feel more like efficient business partners than husband and wife. But this yearly trip is our time to reset—hiking, relaxing, and, of course, soaking up the sun by the pool. It’s a favorite tradition that keeps us grounded.
7. Camper adventures and soaking up the summer sun.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love warm weather. Camping this summer gave me the chance to fully enjoy the sunshine and make memories with my family.
This summer, I also joined my sister for a whirlwind trip to cheer on my talented niece as she competed in a volleyball tournament. It was short but so meaningful—a perfect blend of family and fun.
While I’m not necessarily a dog person, I have to admit our new puppy has brought a lot of joy to our home. My husband is especially thrilled with his furry companion.
I am so thankful for the friends that God has placed in my life. This year, they’ve cheered me on, carried me through challenges, and supported me in countless ways. Their encouragement and love are constant reminders of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
As I look back on this year, I’m reminded that gratitude is more than just recognizing blessings—it’s a way to refocus our hearts on what matters. Whether through joyful milestones, personal victories, or the steady support of loved ones, God has been with me through all of the moments. This week, I challenge you to take some time to reflect on your own blessings. Make Monday matter by carrying a heart of gratitude with you!
